Student: - How do I email my instructor, TA or other members of my course?

There are 2 ways for a student to email their instructor:

- Via the Help / Ask Your Instructor a Question
- Via the Inbox / Compose Message

Students can email their TAs or other members of their course via the Inbox / Compose Message tool

To email your instructor via the Help / Ask Your Instructor a Question - Click on Help

Click "Ask Your Instructor a Question"

This displays a message tool for sending your instructor an email message

Select the course from the dropdown box

Enter your message then click Send Message

This sends an email message to your instructor.

Note: If there are multiple instructors for the course, an email will be sent to all of the instructors.

A Copy of the "Help" sent email message is stored in your Inbox / Sent folder for that course

To send an email to your Instructor, TAs or other members of your course via the Inbox / Compose Message - Click Inbox

Click the Compose Message icon

This displays the Compose Message form

Use the Select Course dropdown box to select the course, whose participants you want to email

Click the Accounts icon to the far right of the "To" box to see the various groups of class participants

NOTE: Students cannot bulk email a group of course participants. They can only email individual members of the course

Click on a group name (example "Teachers") and then select an individual participant

Note: You can select multiple individual participants to email

Enter a Subject and Message

Consider selecting "Send an individual message to each recipient"

Note:

If "Send an individual message to each recipient" is checked, any recipient that clicks "Reply All" to the received email will be sending their reply to YOU ONLY.

If "Send an individual message to each recipient" is not checked, any recipient that clicks "Reply All" to the received email will be sending their reply to ALL PARTICIPANTS that received the email.

Options - Attach a file / Create and attach a webcam video

Click Send

This sends an email to the selected recipients and stores a copy of the email in your "Sent" box for this course.

Locating the copy of the sent email in your "Sent" folder for the course

If you want to receive a copy of the email at your Tufts University email address be sure to set your Notifications (Account / Notifications) to receive "Conversations created by me"
