How to Link to an Existing Piazza Course with the new LTI 1.3
By Default, the Piazza 1.3 tool is not listed in the Canvas course site navigation panel.
To add the Piazza 1.3 tool to a Canvas site, Click Settings.
Click the Navigation tab.
Disable the old Piazza tool and Enable the new Piazza 1.3
The old link will be labeled "Piazza" (no number). If this link is currently visible in your course, find it in the navigation tab and click on the three dots to the right. Then choose on "Disable."
The new link will be labeled "Piazza 1.3" (has a number). To make this link visible to your students, you can click on the three dots to the right and choose "Enable."
Go to Piazza.
The first time you click on the Piazza tool, the Create Your Class page is displayed.
Add Automatic Roster Sync
If you have used Piazza in the past, this step will alleviate the need to set a password. Your roster from canvas will automatically be synced with your Piazza roster.
Connect to an existing course
You can link your existing Piazza course to the new canvas integration with the "Already created a class on Piazza." Your existing course may be automatically detected, if not, use the "search" button.
If you already have a Piazza account, you may have to confirm the account password.
View the Piazza discussion board.
After the class and account have been created, your Piazza discussion board will be displayed each time you click on the Piazza tool.
