How do I download and install the Verity Lockdown browser app?
The Verity Lockdown browser app can run on a Mac or PC and is designed to keep a Canvas quiz on screen while an exam is in session while preventing access to other apps.
During a Canvas exam the Verity Lockdown browser app also records your screen, webcam, and other exam-related data allowing your instructor to observe you taking the exam online. This data may also be reviewed by Tufts or YuJa admins if there are technical or other issues.
If your instructor has set up your Canvas quiz to be used with the Verity Lockdown browser app be sure to carefully follow the all steps in the guide below to install it.

In Chrome, log into Canvas and go to the course. In the course go to the YuJa Verity page
NOTE: you must go to the YuJa Verity page in the course in Canvas each time you're taking a quiz or exam with Verity. This automatically re-authenticates you in Verity.
On the Verity page you will see a confirmation that you're "authenticated"
Click the "Lockdown App" item in the menu on the left
Click whichever Mac or PC button applies to your computer to install the Verity Lockdown app
Follow the steps you usually take when installing an app on your computer.
When the Verity Lockdown Browser app installation is complete, find it on your computer and launch it to be sure it works.
The app is called "Verity Lockdown" and its icon has a black and white shield in a rainbow-colored circle.
When the Verity Lockdown browser app is launched you can recognize it by its purple border across the top
