Which AIs can I use with my students?
A word of caution about AI security —
No private data should be input into any of the AIs on this list.
AIs are new and experimental technology. Even AIs which claim to be secure may have security vulnerabilities which have not yet been discovered or addressed.
For this reason we strongly recommend that you only share content with an AI that you would be willing to share publicly online. Never share confidential data about individuals or organizations, including names, email addresses, or other identifying or sensitive information.
There are several AIs available for free (listed below) which you and your students can access.

- Copilot by Microsoft, powered by GPT-4 (free with Tufts Microsoft account, login information is here)
- ChatGPT by OpenAI, GPT-3.5 (free) or GPT-4 (subscription)
- Gemini by Google (free with a personal Google account, but not available with a Tufts Google account)
- Claude by Anthropic (free basic version)
Image AIs
- Adobe Firefly (free for faculty and staff via Tufts Adobe Creative Cloud account)
- DALL-E 2 & DALL-E 3 (limited free trial/ subscription)
- Midjourney (limited free trial/subscription)
- StableDiffusion (free)
