What is PlayLab.ai

Playlab enables faculty and staff to create custom AI chatbots designed to support teaching, learning, and academic work. Playlab.ai apps are similar to Agents or CustomGPTs. These chatbots can be tailored to specific course contexts, learning goals, or assessment strategies, such as role-play simulations, guided practice, feedback support, or structured inquiry. Playlab is designed to be accessible to non-technical users, allowing educators to focus on pedagogy and learning design rather than coding or AI configuration.

Playlab Access at Tufts University

Playlab is currently an invite-only service at Tufts University and is available through a limited number of institutional licenses. Access is coordinated by Educational Technology Services (ETS) to ensure thoughtful, supported, and responsible use of AI in teaching and learning.

Faculty and staff who are interested in using Playlab or learning more about current availability should contact [email protected] for more information.
