How do I annotate images in Hypothesis?
If you want students to engage with images - like charts, graphs, paintings ect - the Hypothesis Rectangle and Pin annotation tool allows them to select specific areas of an image and add comments directly. This guide will walk you through how to use the tool, so you can support image-based analysis and critical thinking in your assignments.
NOTE: The initial release of the image annotation feature is limited to PDF documents only. Support for other document types will be added soon.
Open your Hypothesis assignment

On the toolbar between the document and where your annotations appear you will see 4 icons. The bottom two icons allow you to annotate on an image, graph, chart or other visual media visible in the PDF.
