How do I use Padlet in Canvas?
Padlet is a collaborative digital platform for sharing and organizing ideas, documents, and media. It facilitates student engagement by providing a virtual space for collaborative projects, brainstorming sessions, and interactive presentations.
Sign into Canvas

In the top-right corner click the blue + Assignment button

You do no need to put an assignment name. Padlet will fill the assignment name with the name of the padlet selected in the next step.
Click the drop-down menu under Submission Type
Click External Tool then click Find
Ensure that you click the box "Load This Tool In A New Tab" before you save and publish your assignment.

If you choose to Make a Padlet, a new tab will open and bring you to Padlet. After you have created this padlet you will need to close the menu and reselect Padlet in the Configure External Tool window to see the padlet you just created.

Student Experience
Students can access the padlet through the assignment you created by clicking the "Load (Name of the assignment) in a new window".
NOTE: Occasionally after opening the padlet students will encounter a "You shall not pass" page.
They need to select, log in and click, "Log in with SAML". This will have them log in with 2-factor authentication and give them access to the board. This will also register them with the Tufts Padlet license.
