How do I make a Sandbox?

Sandbox is a feature of Padlet. Sandboxes are digital whiteboarding spaces, most similar to the discontinued tool, Jamboard. Padlet Sandboxes offer over 20 different tools to use while creating a sandbox from text and simple shapes to music and video embedding. Items on a sandbox can be linked to different cards within a single sandbox to allow for an interactive learning experience.

Were you a Jamboard user who is looking for a new tool? Try padlet's Jamboard importer

Learn more here: How do I import my Jamboards into Padlet Sandbox?

NOTE: Jamboards must be imported to Padlet via google drive prior to December 31st, 2024

My sublime sandbox

1. This is your blank card. A card is your digital whiteboarding space.

2. The + icon creates new blank cards - Each card can have it's own sharing settings, Read only, Writer (can contribute but not move others content) or full editor.

3. This is the deck that holds additional cards. Cards can be clicked and dragged around to change order.

4. This is your "tool box". You can find drawing, text, sticky notes, uploading and many more tools here. Click the +17 to access additional tools.

5. Settings from left to right

a. The remake tool - This allows you to duplicate your sandbox. This will include all cards located in your card deck as well as maintaining any physical actions on the items, such as logic linking or object freezing.

b. The share icon - This is where you will access sharing permissions, links to the entire sandbox as well as breakout links associated to each individual card.

c. Gear icon - This is where you can update the title of your sandbox, change your wallpaper and control content moderation settings.

d. 3 Horizontal dots (elipses) - This gives you most setting options available for the sandbox.

6. Draw and Play

a. Draw Mode is editing mode. When in this mode you and your students may contribute to the board using the Tool Box (#4).

b. Play Mode - This puts the cards into a full screen slideshow. This allows you to present information easily to students.
