LockDown Browser and Accented Letters for Language Exams

During Canvas exams with LockDown Browser students can access accented letters, for example during language exams.

How to access accented letters in LockDown Browser

During an exam in LockDown Browser at the top of the screen there’s a “+” icon the student can click to see a pop-up window of all accented letter choices.

Also, with or without LockDown Browser, on a Mac computer a user can:

  • Press and hold any key for a letter that has accents
  • See a pop-up palette of accents for the letter
  • Use the mouse (or successive clicks) to select the needed accent
