What can I do about videos that buffer or pause when I'm watching them?

We are investigating reports of lecture playback issues (buffering and poor streaming). While we look into this, below are instructions for viewing recordings on lower-bandwidth connections. We apologize for the playback difficulties and we will update the community as soon as possible.

Most lecture recordings give users the option of high-bandwidth and low-bandwidth playback. By default, videos load the high-bandwidth version (720p). However, if you have trouble streaming the video -- it frequently pauses to buffer and has to be restarted -- try switching to the low-bandwidth version.

In the video player, click on the gear icon in the lower-right corner.

Select "Quality" and choose a lower bandwidth option.

This may be 480p or 360p, depending on the classroom in which the lecture took place.
