Echo360 Personal Capture is a stand-alone desktop application that allows you to record your local computer screen (e.g., a PowerPoint presentation or other materials) with an audio narration, along with an optional webcam video. It runs on Windows and Mac computers.

To create recordings, select any combination of inputs (screen, audio, and/or webcam) and record. The recordings will automatically be uploaded to the Echo360 website, where they are converted into streaming video. Once uploaded, videos can be edited and shared with individuals, published to a Canvas course site, or made available to the public.  

Echo360 video files are stored outside your course site, so they do not count toward your course site's storage limit in Canvas. However, Echo360 is not intended for permanent, long-term storage of videos, and recordings are deleted four years from the date they are uploaded.
