What is Bongo?

Bongo is a video assessment tool provided to Tufts faculty and integrated into Canvas. Bongo allows you to create a a variety of different types of video assignments, and track student progress in the Canvas Gradebook.

Bongo has a number of assignment types you can utilize —

  • Individual - students record video with both webcam and screen, or upload video, for assessment by the instructor, and, optionally, by peer reviewers
  • Question & Answer - students are presented with video or text prompts created by the instructor and are required to answer questions about them within a limited time frame. This is great for case studies or practice interviews.
  • Group - students collaborate on a project either synchronously or asynchronously to record a video or other deliverables for submission.
  • Interactive Videos - students watch an instructor-provided video and respond to questions with multiple-choice answers or video answers at specific points during the video. Students can receive immediate feedback on some answers.
