Introduction to Verity for Students

The Verity proctoring tool, made by the company YuJa, is integrated with Canvas and can be included by your instructor in Canvas quizzes/exams.

When in use Verity can allow instructors or proctors to observe you as you take an exam online. Verity will also record your screen, webcam, and other exam-related data for later review, and will restrict some functionality of your computer as you take an exam either online or in the classroom.

NOTE: We are piloting the Verity proctoring tool at Tufts during the Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 semesters. Your instructor will let you know if Verity will be used in your course.
