Wifi Troubleshooting for Classroom Response Systems

If you have issues connecting to wifi while using web-based classroom response tools in class, try these steps to improve your wifi connection.

"Forget" all Tufts wifi networks and re-join "Tufts_Secure" or "Tufts_Secure_6e"

The "Tufts_Secure" wifi network is the strongest and the one that you should use when participating in activities in class. To ensure that your device defaults to joining that network, select your type of device from the list below and follow the steps to forget all networks and only rejoin "Tufts_Secure"

NOTE: The way to access wifi settings on your device may look slightly different depending on the device and the software version.

Wifi settings for Windows computers

Go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks. Click "Forget" for each Tufts network in this list, and then click "Add network" to rejoin the "Tufts_Secure" network (you may be asked to log in with your Tufts credentials). If you see "Tufts_Secure_6e", join that network as it is the strongest available.

Here is what the login process for "Tufts_Secure" looks like on a Windows device:

Then connect to "Tufts_Secure" from the "Other Networks" list. If you see "Tufts_Secure_6e", connect to that one instead.
