What do I need to know about the Blue upgrade as a Blue project manager?
The Blue course evaluation system is preparing for a major upgrade coming in July (the week of the 13th-17th). We will not be able to access the system during this time.
Typically, a Blue upgrade involves a day or two of downtime, but this is a major upgrade, and therefore, the vendor has requested five days. We always do Blue upgrades in July because it has the least amount of activity in Blue. However, there may be some projects in flight, and before the upgrade, these projects must be stopped/expired. After the upgrade, these projects can be restarted/activated. We will work together to identify these and manage the stop and start process.
Please plan ahead as far as reporting prior to the upgrade, so that the week of downtime does not disrupt your work schedule.
When the system returns after the upgrade, it will have a new home and a new look, but you will still be able to access Blue via the Course Evaluations link on the left side navigation of any Canvas course.
While most of the changes will occur behind the scenes, you will notice that there will be different URLs for end users vs project managers, and you will also be gaining the ability to download reports in bulk.
