The Blue course evaluation system is getting a major upgrade in summer of 2026. The system will be unavailable during the process, and when it returns, it will have a new home and a new look. 

The sandbox has been upgraded, and we will soon invite you to experience the new Blue. Please stay tuned.

As part of our spring cleaning around the upgrade, many reports will be archived/expired. Current year reports are on the 'current' tab in Blue. Reports from a previous year (less than five years old) live on the 'archived' tab. Reports are never deleted from Blue, but older reports (more than five years old) are being migrated to an expired state - please reach out for assistance in downloading those reports. When publishing new reports, please set an expiry date of five or six years, so that the reports will roll themselves into an expired state when the time comes.

Typically, a Blue upgrade involves a day or two of downtime, but this is a major upgrade, and therefore, the vendor has requested five days. We always do Blue upgrades in July because it has the least amount of activity in Blue. However, there may be some projects in flight, and before the upgrade, these projects must be stopped/expired. After the upgrade, these projects can be restarted/activated. We will work together to identify these and manage the stop and start process. 

You will still be able to access Blue via the Course Evaluations link on the left side navigation of any Canvas course. However, the upgrade will bring a new Blue URL and a major change in look and feel. While most of the changes will occur behind the scenes, you will notice that there will be different URLs for end users vs project managers, and you will also be gaining the ability to download reports in bulk. We will post more information here as we go along and a link for your end users will be added to your email notifications. Please stay tuned.
