How do I share a Zoom Cloud video recording with students?

Whether you create a meeting via Canvas Zoom or via your Tufts Zoom application at "tufts.zoom.us", you can share a video recording (that is saved to the Zoom cloud) with your students or with others.

When a Zoom video recording is finished processing, you will be sent an email  informing you that the video is available to be shared. This email includes a link to the shared video.

You can share the video two ways:

Option 1- by sending the shared link to students or others via an email

Option 2- by posting the link on your Canvas course site (Announcements / Modules / Pages)

Option 3- (if the meeting was scheduled via the Canvas Zoom tool - not via tufts.zoom.us), by "publishing" the shared video link in the Canvas course site Zoom tool

After receiving the Zoom email informing you that the video is available to be share navigate to:

https://tufts.zoom.us

Once there, click "Sign In" and log in via SSO with your Tufts credentials

(or, if on a Zoom application, click "SSO" to log in with your Tufts credentials)

Click "Recordings" then "Cloud Recordings"

This displays a list of the Zoom recordings you have made to the cloud

To the right of the video name, click "Share"

This displays the "Share this cloud recording" options

1- (Share this recording)- This switch must be enabled to share the video recording with others

2- If "Publicly" is selected, anyone with the shared video URL will be able to view the video recording.

If "Only authenticated users can view" is selected, only those with Tufts University accounts can view the video and they will have to login to Zoom (SSO) before that can access the video

3- You can set a date at which point the shared URL will no longer be valid (and users will not be able to view the video recording)

4- (Viewers can download) Turn this switch "On" if you want viewers to be able to download the video. Turn this switch "Off" if you do not want the viewers to be able to download the video

5- (On Demand - Registration Required) Enable this option to require those with the URL to register before watching the recording online.  To view the video, the student has to enter  their name, and email address on a sign-up page.  You can see this information in your Zoom (https://tufts.zoom.edu) / Recordings / Cloud Recordings, by clicking on the information icon to the immediate right of the video name.

6- (Password Protection) You can set a password that those who have the URL must enter before they can view the video

7- (Display detailed information) Click on the "greater than" arrow too see the name of the video and the shared URL. This shared URL is the same URL that you received in the Zoom email informing you that the video is available for sharing.

8- (Copy sharing information to clipboard) Clicking this will copy the video information and the shared URL to your computer's clipboard so you can paste it into a document

After setting your options, click "Done"

Option 1 - To share the video via email, paste the shared URL in an email to others

This displays the Add Item dialogue box
