How do I upload a video from my computer to My Media?
All Tufts University (faculty/students/staff) accounts can access the Canvas My Media tool and can upload and store video files.
Once uploaded to a user's My Media, a video can be then be shared with course site participants by publishing the video to the site's Media Gallery tool or embedding the video is any Canvas text box (Announcements / Pages / Syllabus / Discussions / Assignments / Quizzes)
Click Choose a File to Upload

This displays your computer's file locator. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file from your computer into this window.
Select the video file and click Open (or Select)

This uploads the video and displays the video detail form.
Enter Name, Description, Tags, then Click Save

This saves the video to your My Media Space. The display will indicate that the video has been saved.
Click Go To My Media

This displays your My Media space with all of the videos you have uploaded.
NOTE: Depending on the size of the video, it may take awhile for the video to be "processed". When finished processing, you will receive an email at your Tufts address indicating that the video is ready to be published to a Media Gallery site or embedded in a Canvas text box.
