How do I search content in my course site?
The Canvas Smart Search tool allows you to search for content across several tools in a course site. Smart Search uses semantic algorithms and AI to search across content pages, announcements, discussion prompts, and assignment descriptions.
Smart Search is a Feature Preview, and is still under active development. To learn more and contribute ideas, see the Smart Search (Feature Preview) discussion in the Canvas Community.
Click on "Smart Search" in the course navigation menu
Enter search terms in the text box
- In the search box, type in keywords, content, or just a general idea of what you are looking for.
- The very first search in a course may take a bit of time to display results, as it initiates the indexing of course content. Subsequent searches will be faster.
