How do I upload iPhone or Android phone videos (and images) to Media Gallery?
Tufts University account holders that have access to any Canvas course site can upload videos or images directly from their iPhone or Android phone via the mobile Canvas app. There is a different app for teachers and students.
For directions on installing the mobile Canvas app on your mobile phone see:
Please Note: You can only add videos directly to your media gallery for a specific course via the app. You can add media from your My Media to your Media Gallery but you cannot add new media to My Media.
Students can upload videos directly to assignments from the app.
You can choose to upload directly from your My Media to your course specific media gallery.
Note: If you want to add a new video from your device to your Media Gallery please follow the next set of instructions.
You can either open your camera and take a photo/film a video or choose an already created photo/video from your phones files.
Within your files you can choose to pull directly from the videos on your phone or by connecting to your Box or Google Drive accounts.
After you select your media from either files or from your camera, the content will begin to upload. If desired, you can adjust the title, description and/or tags.
You'll be notified on the screen once the video has uploaded. The video does take time to process and you will notified via email once the video has been fully processed.
This displays a note that the Title, Description and Tabs have been saved.
Note: Once the video or image is in your My Gallery space, it will be available to everyone who is enrolled in that course.
