How do I mange my Canvas site content using TidyUP?
Click Scan Course (depending on the size of your site, the scan may take awhile)
Note 1: Question Banks cannot be scanned for file usage
Note 2: By default, "All" files are scanned. However, you can select "Custom" and scan selected file types.
Once TidyUp scans your site, three Tabs of management are available - Files / Folders / Canvas Content
Files Tab: You can display All Files, Unused Files or Files in Use
Note 1: "Unused Files" means that the file is not connected to a Module, Announcement, Discussion, Quiz, Page, Collaboration, Syllabus or Assignment. The File is still located in the Files tool and if you allow students to access files directly from the Files tool, the file may still be a file that you "Use"
Note 2: By default only 100 files are displayed. You can use the "Show" dropdown box to show ALL files
Files Tab: Hover your cursor over the name of the file and a pop-up displays the Size, Creation Date, Update Date, Hidden/Unpublished Status and the complete PATH to the file in the Files tool
Files Tab: You can search for individual files using the Search box
Note: You can preview any file by clicking on the "Preview" icon
Files Tab: You can delete files by either selecting the file checkbox and clicking "Delete Selected" or clicking on the trash can icon to the right of the file name.
Note: Files that are "Used" cannot be deleted
Files Tab: You can download a .csv report of the files by clicking on the "Download CSV Report" button at the bottom of the page
Folders Tab: You can delete a folder by selecting the checkbox and clicking Delete Selected or by clicking on the trash can icon to the right of the folder name
Note: Only "empty" folders can be deleted.
Folders Tab: You can download a .csv report of the folders by clicking on the "Download CSV Report" button at the bottom of the page
Canvas Content Tab: You can display all published/unpublished content, published/unpublished content in Modules and/or published/unpublished Canvas content types
Canvas Content Tab: Hover your cursor over the name of the Canvas Content and a pop-up displays the Content Type, Creation Date, Update Date, and Hidden/Unpublished Status
Canvas Content Tab: You can delete Canvas content by selecting the checkbox and clicking Delete Selected or by clicking on the trash can icon to the right of the Canvas Content name
