How do I add the Google Maps App to my Canvas course site?

Instructors can add the Google Maps App to their Canvas course site. Once added, Google maps can be embedded into any Canvas text box.

Go to the course site and click Settings

This displays the Canvas course site settings page.

Click the Apps tab

Click View App Configurations

Click Add App (+)

This displays the Canvas Add App form

Use the Configuration Type dropdown box to select By URL

This displays the "By URL" Canvas Add App form

In the Name box, enter Google Maps

In the Configure URL box, paste this URL:

https://bltools.creighton.edu/lti/ltimaps/config.xml

Click Submit

This adds the Google Maps App to your Canvas course site.

You now have a Google Maps icon located in the rich text editor of any Canvas text box on the site.
