How do I embed a Google Map in a Canvas text box?
Instructors can embed a dynamic Google Map into any Canvas text box (Announcements / Pages / Syllabus / Assignments / Discussions / Quizzes)
Students can embed a dynamic Google Map into any Canvas text box they can access (example: Discussions / Assignments that provide a Canvas text box)
Instructors must first add the Google Maps App to their Canvas course site. See: How do I add the Google Maps App to my Canvas course site?
Go to the Canvas text box and place your cursor where you want to embed the Google Map
Click on the More Apps down arrow and select Google Maps
This displays the Google Maps App Search Box
Enter the Address (or Place) / City / State, then click Create My Map
This displays the Google Map of the location
Click Embed It
This embeds the Google Map into the Canvas text box.
Click Save or Save and Publish
Note: This example uses a Canvas Pages text box but Google Maps can be added to any Canvas text box.
