How do students respond to a question posted by the instructor?
This article is written from a student's point of view.
Go to Piazza.
Click on the instructor's question in the question column on the left.
This displays the contents of the question post on the right side of the display.
Click in the "Student's Answer" box and begin answering the question.
This displays the Piazza Editor box.
Add your answer, select your identity, then click on Submit.

Other students can add/refine this answer by clicking on the Edit button.
