How do I enable SensusAccess in my course site?
SensusAccess is an easy-to-use tool that allows faculty and students to easily convert a written document into a format that works best for them. This includes audio files, large print documents, and digital Braille. It can also translate documents from one language to another.
The StAAR Center has been using SensusAccess to help students who need course content in an alternative format. Students have reported increased attention to detail as they both listen to and read material at the same time. Faculty from the UDL Fellowship have also been using it and report enjoying the ability to review content on their commutes to campus. SensusAccess is a universally designed tool to help all learners effectively engage with course materials.
SensusAccess must be enabled in a course site in order for students to access the conversion tool. After the tool is enabled, any user enrolled in the site can convert content: How do I use SensusAccess to convert course content?
