How do I set up extra time and other accommodations in Canvas Quizzes?
Some students may be eligible for extra time on their exams due to an accessibility accommodation, or may need to take their exam at a different time than their peers due to scheduling issues. This guide will walk you through how to adjust settings for specific students.
Setting different start/end times for specific students
Follow these steps if some students need different start and/or end times from the rest of the class.
Scroll down and click on "+ Assign To"
IMPORTANT: Do not delete the "Everyone" in the original dates you set for all students. That will make the quiz unavailable for every other student. Instead, we are creating a new set of dates/times for specific student(s).
Start typing the student's name into "Assign To" field and select their name.
You can repeat this process for other students who will have the same start/end times as the first student you add. If there are other students who need different start/end times, complete this process and start over for the other students.

Configuring extra time or attempts for specific students
Enter the number of extra attempts or extra minutes and click "Save"
The number of extra minutes are based on the original time limit for the exam. For example, if the time limit is 60 minutes and the student is allowed 50% extra time, they should get 30 extra minutes.
